The molly comes from southern U.S.A. and Mexico |
|
| Temperature 72-82 degrees F | |
| Mollies enjoy very hard water, very alkilne, in fact they will tolerate brackish to actual salt water.( I have had them in a marine aquarium along with salt water fish.) | |
| The Molly is a live bearing fish and is easy to breed and raise. Be careful moving a mother with young in her, this could cause premature births and the young could perish. This fish is a schooling fish and should be kept with many others of its own kind. The Molly should be maintained in well planted environment. | |
| The molly comes in Black, Green, Gold, Spotted, and varias colors. The fish also comes with sailfins and or lyretail. | |
| The Sailfin Molly is one of the most beautiful of all the freshwater
fish.... The Molly |

The genus Poecilia is in the family Poeciliidae which includes the live-bearing toothed carps such as swordtails, platies, mollies and guppies. The live-bearing toothed carps are most closely related to the "egg-bearing toothed carps" which include the "killifishes". The genus Poecilia includes such common aquarium fish as guppies and mollies.
