Our primary goal should always be to return to nature something in return for the pleasures and benefits we have received. We should always remember to try to learn as much as possible and to record that information, not only for our own use, but for the benefit of others. We should learn to breed the species of fish we maintain so that we do not wantonly endanger the creatures of the rivers, lakes, and oceans by wantonly reducing their numbers until they are in danger of extinction."

FRESHWATER AND MARINE AQUARIUM FISH

It is very important that you take your time planning what type of world you wish to maintain these beautiful aquatic animals in.We can never duplicate the natural environment that is provided in nature, but if we understand the basic physiological requirements and assume the very serious responsibility of caring and maintaining these delicate creatures, it is possible to enjoy a very interesting and rewarding hobby

Setting up the Freshwater Aquarium

 # Setting up and

Maintaining a Salt Water       Aquarium.

The first thing you must decide, is how large of an aquarium you are going to need. The larger tanks are better to maintain a marine environment. I suggest at least a 55 gallon tank. A plexiglass or acrylic is best. I suggest that you get a self contained aquarium. The self contained tanks have a lighted hood, a wet dry filtering system, aeration, and a built in heater thermostat. Try to get a stand with doors, it is great to have a place to store things.

  # Aquarium Fish for the

    Beginner and the              Expert

There is a wide range of fish to choose from. We should start with the fish that are easy to keep. These fish are known as non aggressive or community fish.

•Reef Fish, The Gems of The Sea

                         # Feeding your

Fish.

If your fish are not fed properly they could have problems with digestion, diseases, and obesity. Just a we humans need a healthy diet, so do our fish. To have a healthy diet we must provide the fish with varied foods containing plenty of roughage. Some species will also require particular foods in their diets.( Always ask when you buy a new fish)

# Plants for the Aquarium,                          HERE

The real plants will cost more, and are harder to maintain. The plastic plants will require no care, other than cleaning occasionally.

WELCOME TO MY WATERWORLD!!

One of the largest passions in life is the aquarium hobby. The tank shown above is the center piece of my living room. It is truly my pride and joy. I do maintenance, design, and consultations on fresh, salt, reef aquariums, and ponds.

A Coral Reef in the Aquarium ,

The Natural Reef as a source of inspiration

The coral reefs offer some of the most beautiful and interesting life forms in the world . Not many years ago, we were totally unable to transfer this incredibly varied world to the aquarium. With dead and bleached coral skeletons and a small selection of particularly hardy fish species, were nearly the best we could achieve. Our knowledge of technique and biology has improved a lot since then. Modern reef aquarists seek knowledge and inspiration from the natural reef .

Brothers Island, 200 miles south of Sharm El-Sheik in the Red Sea, is home to an abundance of colorful marine life. This huge soft coral dwarfs a 16-inch coral grouper. Continue to view the CORAL Gallery...

Example

Question.....How do you stop an

anenome from continually moving around the tank?

Just want to Know!

Answer.........Hi ,The answer is you Don't!!!!!

It is best to allow an anenome to choose its own location.

They often plant themselves where filter feeding is

at a optimum. If you continually try to move

an anenome you run the chance of damaging their

sensitive bodies. I would simply let the anenome

find his own location or in your case let him wander

as long as he wants. After all you don't stop your

fish from moving in the tank!!!!

Algae In The Saltwater Aquarium

Despite many claims to the contrary, the only way to control algae in the aquarium is to control the conditions that foster its growth. Primarily, these are water chemistry and the nature and amount of light falling upon the tank.

Marc Weiss: Algae Magic 6 Oz

Enhances clarity of the tank by eliminating the food sources for nuisance algae blooms (including green hair, brown diatom and red slime)

Not harmful to fish, plants, corals, rocks and other living organisms in the aquarium

Does not contain copper sulfate

Algae MagicTM is 100% organic. It takes the natural chemistry of the past and transforms it to the present. Clarity of the water relates directly to a water-balanced tank. Algae MagicTM provides the ability to lower the food supply of the nuisance algae. This event can take a short amount of time but it is not instantaneous. The objective of the formulation allows the desired plant growth to deal with wastes in the tank to more efficiently maintain better oxygenation. As the increased aerobic conditions of the tank predominate, nuisance algae will still exist (because this is the natural state of the life cycle), however, they will not predominate and cause displeasing aesthetics. Algae MagicTM when added to your tank will fortify your plants' leaf structure. The by-product of this effect enhances oxygenation within the tank and adds an additional food source for animal life. As the plants and microscopic creatures respond to the enhanced environment, the tank naturally clears of visible wastes and nuisance algae ? creating an awesome view.
