Hispanic Special Interest Group (SIG)Mondays 9 - 10 pm ET (8 pm CT, 7 pm MT, 6 pm PT)Golden Gates Conference Room Hispanic Drop-In Hour (DIH)Thursdays 11pm - 12am ET (10 pm CT, 9 pm MT, 8 pm PT)Ancestral Digs Conference Room The Hispanic SIG/DIH meets to discuss general issues regarding Hispanic genealogy and related history, share advice, and, of course, hunt for bingos (surname matches). Hispanic geography includes the United States and any country where Spanish is the dominant language and culture, such as Spain, Central America, South America, the Caribbean, etc. Michael Rosado, Chuck Bobo, Patricia Lynam, and Carlos LoPopolo host these meetings and would be happy to answer your questions concerning Hispanic genealogy or the AOL Genealogy Forum in general. If you have Hispanic ancestors, we encourage you to visit this meeting and to use the Hispanic, Spanish Californians, Spanish Floridians, Spanish Texans, Caribbean Islands, Mexico, Spain, and North & South America message boards. Don't forget to check our ethnic and geographical file libraries, too. Central/South American Drop-In Hour (DIH)Saturdays 8 - 9 pm ET (7 pm CT, 6 pm MT, 5 pm PT)Ancestral Digs Conference Room The Central/South American DIH meets to discuss issues concerning genealogy research and related history in Central and South America countries, share advice, and, of course, hunt for bingos (surname matches). Central American geography includes Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua and Panama. South American geography includes Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guayana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, Uruguay and Venezuela. This DIH is unhosted at the present time, but this may change as Hispanic SIG/DIH participation increases and knowledgeable hosts in these areas become available. If you have Central or South American ancestors, we encourage you to visit this meeting and to use the Hispanic, Mexico, and North & South America message boards. Don't forget to check our ethnic and geographical file libraries, too. Caribbean Drop-In Hour (DIH)Saturdays 9 - 10 pm ET (8 pm CT, 7 pm MT, 6 pm PT)Ancestral Digs Conference Room The Caribbean DIH meets to discuss issues concerning Caribbean genealogy and related history, share advice, and, of course, hunt for bingos (surname matches). Caribbean geography includes the islands of Cuba, Jamaica, Hispaniola (Haiti/Dominican Republic), and Puerto Rico, as well as the Virgin Islands, the Bahamas, Bermuda, Barbados and the rest of the Windward and Leeward island chains. This DIH is unhosted most weekends; but Michael Rosado would be happy to field your questions regarding Caribbean genealogies, especially those from Puerto Rico. If you have ancestors from the West Indies, we encourage you to visit this meeting on that weekend and to use the Hispanic and Caribbean Islands message boards.
